WILL OF SAMUEL WYATT
Last Will of Samuel Wyatt
KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that I, Samuel Wyatt, of the County of Schuyler, State of Missouri, viewing the uncertainty of life and the certainty of death, and being of sound mind, so hereby revoke all instruments of writing and wills made by me previous to this date concerning the disposition of my property, I do make this my last Will and Testament.
1st: After paying all my just debts which may be legal, exhibited and allowed,, I do will my property as follows.
2nd: For the love and affection of my son, Davis Wyatt, I do will and bequeath to him or to his legal heirs, one dollar ($1.00) and one red cow, supposed to be ten years old, which he has in his possession and has had for some five or six years.
3rd: For the love and affection of my son, Samuel C. Wyatt, I do will and bequeath to him or to his legal heirs, one dollar ($1.00) and one gray mare supposed to be ten years old.
4th: For the love and affection of my daughter, Mary Elizabeth Wyatt, I do will and bequeath to him or to his legal heirs, one dollar ($1.00) and one feather bed with such bed clothing as there is, and for my wife Sarah Ann Wyatt to use the same until my daughter arrives at the age of eighteen years old, or until she marries, if she should marry before she arrives to the age of eighteen years.
5th: For the love and affection of my wife and beloved companion Sarah Ann Wyatt, I do will and bequeath all the household and kitchen furniture this is in my house or around the same, too tedious to mention; six head of cattle; one half of the hogs, young and old; ten head of good sheep; one sorrel horse, four years old this spring; one sorrel mare four years old this spring; one two horse wagon and harness, now of which is all on the premises, or close at hand, so long as she shall live. And at her death, if there is anything remaining of my chattels in my wife's hands, the same falls back to my daughter, Mary Elizabeth Wyatt, for her own use and benefit, and further, if my daughter Mary Elizabeth Wyatt should die, the property here willed to her and all other property remains to my wife for her to dispose of as she may wish or think best.
6th: Whatever may be remaining of my goods, chattel and effects, after paying the expenses of winding up my estate, the same shall be bequeathed equally divided between my three children, Davis Wyatt, Samuel C. Wyatt and Mary Elizabeth Wyatt.
7th: And it is my will that Will A. Coffey is hereby appointed my executor to carry out this, my last will, according to law.
Signed and sealed in the presence of Samuel S. Carman and Samuel C. Falsner, this sixth day of March, Eighteen hundred and Sixty-seven.
