Robert Smith Will





WILL OF ROBERT SMITH


IN THE NAME OF GOD, AMEN! I, Robert Smith, being weak of body but sound in mind, do make this my last Will and Testament, revoking all wills heretofore made by me. It is my will that my just debts be paid and the expense of my interment, and that of my beloved wife, together with the expenses of our last illnesses be paid, and that a decent tombstone be erected on our graves.

I further will that my son, Frazer Smith, have the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) of my estate and no more, and that my son George W. Smith have the sum of ten ($10.00) of my estate and no more, and that my daughter Ellen M. Forbes have the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) and her mother's trunk and bed, and that said trunk and bed be given into her hands at her mother's death. It is my will that I and my beloved wife be kept in our usual condition during our natural lives, and I do will and bequeath to my son, Mathew Smith, all my real estate described as follows: The northwest 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of section thirty-one (31) of Town sixty-seven (67) of Range fourteen (14), and the east 1/2 of the northeast 1/4 of the southeast 1/4 of section thirty-six (36) of Town sixty-seven (67) of Range fifteen (15), in Schuyler County, to be his property in fee simple on conditions that he pay and satisfy first the above legacies and carries out my desires as herein above set forth in full, and to the letter of this will in caring for me and my wife, and I will to him the same Mathew Smith all the personal property of which I may die the owner.

In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name this January 24, A.D. 1888.

We attest the above and foregoing will by subscribing our names hereunto as witnesses in the presence of Robert Smith, the testator, this the 24th day of January, A.D. 1888.
